O Sisters... Do you share your personal number for Islamic messages? Beware!
By: Iftikhar Islam
In this modern world using technology to spread Islam is mandatory for us. Surely Allah, the most high, will ask us about this bounty. Technology has helped a lot which stands as a medium of conversation in the spread of Islam. On the contrary, the same technology has destroyed Muslims significantly. You can very well utilize the means you have for the spread of Islam. But always remember, Satan – the great scientist of all time – is busy in his research of deviating the Muslim Ummah, particularly to those who work for Islam.
As you all know, there is a craze of Islamic Messages spreading around. Some of the brothers begin to create Islamic Messages and started spreading it through SMS’s within their circles. In this journey of sincerity, some started initiating a talk (chat) on social networking sites with sisters. After chatting a while they ask personal phone number to send “Islamic Messages”. Even some ask the numbers to wake them for fajr Salah, disgusting!!! How dare you to ask the number from a Non-Mahram sister.. and that too for waking-up for fajr?? Failing to realize the trap set by the great scientist – Satan, they started “calling” (a phone call) with the beautiful reason of “getting helped” and involve in personal – very personal – discussion.
Some of them are using the names of Great Scholars and Daees to take the phone numbers from sisters. They even give ‘wasila’ of their speeches and of being a so-called student of “Islam”. Remember! Becoming a student of Islam and Comparative Religions needs sincerity.
I ask to my dear and respected sisters, why do you share your contact numbers with them? Why you involve in personal discussion in the name of Religion? Why don’t you clearly remind them the message of Islam, the same message which they preach in their text messages?
It is because of the weakness of Iman. Yes! We update our Facebook wall regularly with unwanted stuffs. “Getting damn bored”, “Tired of Applying Mehndi”, “Visiting my favorite place”, “Had lunch with Chicken”, “Today is my result”, etc. These are the sparks which satan ignites and further discussion will be in private texts with non Mahram brothers. What is the need to give these kinds of stuffs on your facebook wall? If you are getting bored then why to inform the whole world? If you are tired of applying mehndi, then take some rest, perform ablution and pray salah, you will be fresh again. If your results are out, then supplicate Allah for your good marks. If you are very happy of getting what you desire, then thank Allah; he is the only person worthy of giving thanks. And surely, is it necessary to tell what you eat and where you go?
All these stuffs make the brothers to contact easily. They get the doors of discussion open. And due to weakness of our Imaan, we fall into the trap of Satan.
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “I am not leaving behind me in my ummah any fitnah that is more harmful for men than women.” [Saheeh Bukhari, Saheeh Muslim] He (peace be upon him) also said "If two non-mahrams (men and women) are alone, then the third is Satan"
I urge my Muslim brothers to work within their field. Allah will not ask you about sisters. If you want to spread Islamic teachings through text messages, then collect the numbers of only brothers and proceed. Don’t let your mind think that I am in Hijab; I only send text; what is wrong in it. The satan is behind you. He is waiting for a single step of diversion. Don’t let him succeed in his work. Fight with him and defeat him in each and every corner till the door of meeting your Lord opens.
And it is also the duty of my sisters to guard themselves from the fitna around them. Please don’t get influenced by the world. They only know to exploit you in the name of “freedom” and “rights”. Submit yourself to the God Almighty and don’t let your limited mind to question the commandment of the Creator.
Allah orders the wives of the Prophet (peace be upon him) in the Glorious Quran (33:32) "O wives of the Prophet! You are not like any other women. If you keep your duty (to Allah), then be not soft in speech, lest he in whose heart is a disease should be moved with desire, but speak in an honourable manner." Imagine if this is the order to the wives of the prophet, then who much conscious you should be in this case.
