Dual purpose condoms for homosexuals: Further step towards shameful society

Instead of preventing disgraceful activities in the society, The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) is planning to develop a “dual purpose condom” for homosexuals (Times of India, 14 April 2010), which promotes shameful activities in the society. It helps in growth of gay-population which is harmful for a decent society.

Being a gay is a ‘choice’, not ‘by birth’. Dr. Muzammil Siddiqi of the ISNA has rightly said: "Homosexuality is a moral disorder. It is a moral disease, a sin and corruption... No person is born homosexual, just like no one is born a thief, a liar or murderer. People acquire these evil habits due to a lack of proper guidance and education. In fact homosexuality is a mental and moral disease which destroys families and societies as a whole. It promotes unusual sexual activities in the young generations who are the leaders of tomorrow. Hence, destroying the future of the ethical society. As we know condom is not the “complete solution” for the diseases spread by homosexuals. The chance of acquiring these diseases gets low but does not eradicate.

Prevention is better than cure – an Islamic solution.

Islam is the complete way of Life. It gives guidance in every aspects of life. It is the solution for all. It also gives the solution to this problem. Allah – The God Almighty says “Do you commit (the sexual act) with the males in this world? And you forsake the mates that your Lord created for you? Indeed, you are a nation guilty of transcending the limits.” (AQ 26:165-166). Islam gives the perfect solution and cuts the root of the immoral practice – homosexuality. The Glorious Quran explicitly condemns homosexuality in various places (AQ 7:80-83, 27:55, 29:28-29).

The crime rates of these societies are high as compared to the normal societies. The best solution to have a better and peaceful society is to eradicate homosexuality from this world. As I said Islam is the solution, what solution does it gives? Allah says, “And among His Signs is this, that He created for you mates from among yourselves, that you may dwell in tranquility with them, and He has put love and mercy between your (hearts): verily in that are Signs for those who reflect.” (AQ 30:21). God Almighty has put love and companionship in males and females so that they enjoy lawfully by marrying each other. These relationships extend beyond the physical sexual contact to psychological and spiritual relations. “And it is Allah who gives offspring to whom He wills” (AQ 42:49-50). The prophet (pbuh) said, "Kill the one who sodomizes and the one who lets if be done to him." (Abu Daood) The Prophet (pbuh) has also said: “Lesbianism by women is adultery between them.” (Tabrani).

1. Prevent homosexuality, it should not be legalized.

2. Promote healthy marriage. “Make Nikah so easy that Zina becomes difficult”

3. Punish the person who violates.

The best punishment for this crime is death. We, as Muslims, have benefit and blessings of divine guidance and wisdom. We have the ultimate guidance from Allah which guides in every part of life. The Glorious Quran reminds us that Allah will change the condition of the people only if they themselves put forth the effort (AQ, 13:11), and will surely guide them who strive in His cause (AQ, 29:69). If the homosexuals can promote their wrong values with vigor and succeed, It is our duty and responsibility to not only make an effort to end this trend, but also to invest our time, energy, and resources to promote the divine values with as much zeal.
